The sound track on this CD is an actual copy of the Orson Welles radio broadcast which upset the American nation on October 30th 1938.

Based on a story by H.G. Wells, listeners switched on to be told that the Martians had arrived and had launched a ferocious attack on the planet. All across the USA, people reacted. Some called radio stations and newspapers. Some hid in churches whilst other loaded up their cars and fled. Deaths and miscarriages were reported.

An age when people believed all they heard on radio - but learned the hard way.
