Mairi MacArthur has her Gaelic roots in the Isle of Tiree and in mid-Argyll. A singer since childhood and a professional performer for much of her adult life, she first gained widespread recognition when awarded the prestigious Gold Medal at the National Mod in 1965.

During her career Mairi made several recordings. The repertoire of this CD has been carefully selected from these by herself and skilfully restored. There are eighteen tracks, a few in English but mostly Gaelic including an extremely beautiful version of The Lord's Prayer (Urnaigh an Tighearna). An exquisite voice not to be forgotten.
