I KNOW WHERE I'M GOING - DVD
[80556]

£9.99

Artiste: Wendy Hiller and Roger Livesey
Label: GV

Filmed on location on the Isle of Mull with John Laurie, Finlay Currie and other well known bygone Scots faces. Wendy Hiller stars in Powell and Pressburger's classic Tom Antic comedy about a young woman who discovers the true meaning of wealth.

Joan Webster (Hiller) has her life mapped out, beginning with marriage to a rich industrialist. Her plans go wrong when she finds herself stranded on the way to a Scottish island and encounters the local laird (played by the wonderful Roger Livesey). Her plans, as well as her feelings begin to go awry.

This fourth collaboration between Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger is one of their best-loved movies. The strongest, most magical presence in the movie, even in black and white, is that of the Scottish scenery, beautiful and volatile and somehow serving to aid and abet the happy ending. If they made films as good as this nowadays then there would still be cinemas to show them in.

Highly recommended.
