We are really pleased to have got hold of a few copies of this DVD which is based on footage from the 1950s and 1960s.
It features the city’s trams of the era swaying through the streets like vast galleons. Blamed for conjestion some were replaced by the new electric trolleybuses. However it’s not just a film for transport buffs, it also recalls the fashions, shop fronts, the cars, the street-scapes and the suburbs of a city which has changed radically in the years which followed.
