Scotland's capital city begins as a bronze age settlement, becoming a hotbed of artistic and philosophical achievement winning it the title of ĎAthens of the North'.
The film also looks at it's scientific inventions, at the Forth Bridge and the architectural legacy which moved an American president to call it one of the wonders of the age. The sporting life is also examined. Hibs and Hearts, Murrayfield and two Commonwealth Games.
