The English Lake District is one of the most spectacular areas in the country. The mountains tumble downward to the sea, forming a mighty backdrop to one of Britan's great railway journeys.
Carried along by modern sprinters, there is always plenty to see on our journey that forms a circuit around Cumbria and the Lake District. We begin our journey at Carnforth, home to Steamtown Carnforth. From here we head north through Oxenholme to Staveley and then onto Windermere and the Windermere Steamboat museum.
We continue on to Cark,with it's stately home and Motor Museum, then onto Ulverston, birthplace of Stan Laurel, and home to the Laurel and Hardy Museum. As our journey draws to a close we visit the beautiful city of Carlisle.
